The Autumn travel deals keep coming. Last week, I highlighted Delta’s first fare sale for fall and offered a few tips on how to get to Europe in Autumn without breaking the bank. Well, Continental Airlines has just made it a little bit easier. If you’ve always wanted to go to the UK, now might be the perfect time to book your flight. However, if you want to take advantage of Continental’s deals, there is a catch: You won’t be flying into London. Continental Airlines is offering substantial savings on flights from the States to Manchester (MAN) and to Birmingham (BHX). Here are some sample fares:

Once you arrive, you can take a quick and inexpensive flight to London. However, debate over the effect that these short flights have on the environment has led a large number of passengers to eschew the flights altogether and make the trip to London on a luxurious Virgin Train.

You could also just stay in your arrival city, explore the surrounding areas, and enjoy a more off the beaten path tour of England. You might be able to catch a Man U game, or just discover all that England has to offer outside of London.
